Wellbeing

All children must feel safe, secure, valued and cared for if they are to thrive in the nursery environment.

At Aspin Nursery we:

  • Arrange a welcome meeting with your child’s new class teacher before they start to give you an opportunity to discuss your child’s settling in requirements and share information such as their likes and dislikes, daily routine and interests.
  • Allocate a dedicated carer to each new starter in the nursery. This is their main point of contact for any questions, issues or concerns your child may have as he/she adapts to the new friends, routine and environment.
  • Encourage healthy eating and lifestyle practices
  • Spend a lot of class time outdoors, when weather permits, in active inquiry and sensory play
  • Employ a registered nurse to monitor the wellbeing of the children
  • Contract with a visiting doctor who makes periodic checks on the health and development of all the children
